Updated Hydrus, Bloodred, Dark Matter and Reborn Tigreans
I'm neutral on the subject of Tigreans, generally, though my feelings about the revamp are violently mixed. I think the new hydrus and reborn Tigreans very adequately retain the feel of the originals, though I know there was a lot of love for the reborn around here and I can see how some people might not be entirely thrilled. I love the way the wing-markings on the reborn's back look. I'm indifferent to the bloodred, but I have a nasty suspicion the dark matter is going to grow on me enough to make me want one.
Hm, I can't really see much difference in the Hydrus one, it still has that akward bend.
The bloodred is quite nice, but to blocky for me. I can't describe it any different.
But I really like the DM one, it has something playful that I like.
The reborn has the same pose, but the old one looked somehow more fierce.

Help me to make my Dreams come true?

Wow, I almost regret sending my zapped Reborn Tigrean off to my youngest brother, they look like a pet I would really like to own.
I think Bloodred is my favourite of these revamps, finally a Bloodred pet I could consider owning. I believe teera (?) handled these revamps really well. The Hydrus and Reborn version, like Twofold said, are quite true to their past versions and the other two reek of awesomeness.

Mesa want a darkmatter Tigrean now too. And, dammits, I have no room for one, and had plans all nicely set for additional pets once I get my hands on the mystical plushies.
But, argh! The darkmatter is so v.v.cool. <3
If Sagan were still a reborn Tigrean I'd be fine with the revamp; the glaring aloofness of the original is still there but the color and shading has been upgraded a notch or two. And I join Twofold in expressing love for the wings of fire on its back.
I've never cared for the hydrus and I still don't - but I can see the art has been upgraded there too.
And bloodred . . . it scares me. *.* *flees before ebil kitty*

We actually use some of Jill (formerly teera_misu)'s bloodred pets as examples to our other artists of how to draw blood. ^_^ She does an amazing job. That smear under the forepaw is one of my favorite features of that tigrean!!Iggy wrote:The Bloodred is my favorite. It's VICIOUS.
For me to like a BR pet, the blood must look REAL.

The smears below the paws is the reason why I have a BR Demi. It's a lovely touch.
On a scale of 0 to 10, where pure awesomeness is a 10 and 0 is the BR Kumos, I give the Tigrean a 9.3.
DM is original. I like. But, I wouldn't pay for it. I like the fact it's holding the DM
I never was a fan of tigreans, but I have to say that both the dark matter and bloodred are very nicely done. So nice in fact, that if my pet slots weren't all full, I might just want a DM one...
However, I do not like the pose on the hydrus - it looks awkward and off balance - like if you poked it it would easily fall over because of how it's paws are all tangled in each other.
I'm also extremly dissapointed in the reborn. Again, I never was a huge fan, but like what was said aboe, it's lost a tonne of ferosity and now just looks like it's sad that it's tail is on fire. Something I really liked about the old one was the slanting forhead and evil-looking eyes. The body also looks a lot shorter then all the other pictures, which makes it look chubby and out of place. The really only good thing I like about it, are the 'phoenix wing' markings on it's back.

This is a great group of redraws, BR and DM especially. If I ever get a bloodred pet, it will either be this or a telenine. The darkmatter one has I cool pose, and I really like the tail for some reason.
Hydrus is okay. It's much better than the first, but not one of my favorite hydus pets.
On the reborn one, I love those flamey patterns, they're awesome. I'm also glad that they kept the old pose. One thing I'm disliking are the blue eyes- did the old one have blue eyes too? They stand out too much in my opinion, I think orange or yellow eyes would have been better.

Mine too, her way of drawing blood is really good, I like her Bovyne, eventhough the Blood isn't as good as this one.Luxe wrote:We actually use some of Jill (formerly teera_misu)'s bloodred pets as examples to our other artists of how to draw blood. ^_^ She does an amazing job. By the way, it's nice to see you posting again. ^_^

I personally really like the Reborn one. I might almost consider getting one... I've never been as keen on my Reborn Sheeta as I really ought to be given how much I love the artwork. I especially love the flame patterns on the back. I can see how not all of the old Reborn fans will be thrilled, though.
The others I'm indifferent-ish to, although I suppose I might consider the DM one for Shadowdance if the DM Montre gets screwed up in a revamp.
